What Is Rainwater Harvesting?
Rainwater harvesting is a method of collecting and storing rainwater at surface or sub-surface aquifers β underground layers of rock that hold groundwater. The rainwater must be collected before it gets lost as surface runoff, so it can be used artificially whenever needed.
When resources are becoming scarce, groundwater can deplete too. Rainwater harvesting lets you artificially recharge the groundwater system. Water can be stored for direct consumption, surplus water can be recharged to the ground, or a system can be designed to only recharge groundwater. These systems can be installed in individual houses, societies, schools, hospitals, and industries.
Advantages of Rain Water Harvesting
Six reasons rainwater harvesting is worth investing in, for your property and beyond.
Promotes Underground Water
Promotes adequacy of underground water by directing surplus rainfall back into the earth.
Mitigates Drought
Mitigates the effect of drought by building a stored, artificial reserve of water.
Saves Energy
Improves the groundwater table, thereby saving energy needed to lift water from deeper levels.
Good for the Environment
Storing water underground is good for the environment and supports long-term ecological balance.
Cost-Effective
A one-time investment that continues to pay back through reduced water costs.
Conserves Water
Helps conserve water at the source β capturing it before it is lost as runoff.
Methods of Rainwater Harvesting
Understanding these methods helps us determine which approach works best for your property.
Catching Rain Where It Falls
The system of catching rainwater right where it falls. In rooftop harvesting, the roof becomes the catchment area and rainwater is collected on the roof of the house or building. It can either be stored in a tank or diverted to an artificial recharge system. This method is less expensive, and if implemented correctly, helps augment the groundwater level of the area.
Capturing Urban Runoff
In urban areas, rainwater flows away as surface runoff. This runoff can be caught and used for recharging aquifers by adopting appropriate methods β turning water that would otherwise be lost into a usable, long-term resource.
Components of a Rainwater Harvesting System
Every installation is built from the same core components, sized and arranged for your property.
Catchments
Coarse Mesh
Gutters
Conduits
First Flush
Filters
Storage Tanks
Recharge Structures
Design Considerations
No two properties are the same, so no two systems should be either. Before we design your system, we work through a checklist of factors that shape the final layout β matched to your roof, your soil, and your storage needs.
Project Execution Timeline
From first survey to a fully connected system, here's how a project comes together.
Determine Catchment Area
Assess and clean the catchment area on your property.
Determine the Layout
Plan the route water will take from roof to storage.
Set Up Storage
Position and prepare tanks or recharge structures.
Install Pipes & Tanks
Fit conduits, gutters, and storage into place.
Install System
Fit filters and first-flush diverters, then test the run.
Connect to Storage
Final connection β your system is live and collecting.

What Customers Say
"Our borewell used to run dry every summer. Since the recharge system was installed, water levels have stayed steady."
"The rooftop system was installed quickly and helped our society meet the municipal rainwater harvesting requirement."
"Shreyas Enterprises handled the survey, design, and installation end to end. Very smooth process for our factory site."
Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? Here are answers to the most common enquiries about our rainwater harvesting services.
It's the process of collecting rainwater before it's lost as runoff, storing it for use or directing it underground to recharge groundwater. It reduces dependence on tankers and borewells while supporting long-term water security.
Both. Rooftop rainwater harvesting is our most common project type, but we also design surface rainwater harvesting systems that capture urban runoff for groundwater recharge.
Tank size, roof size, tank location, filter unit requirement, and drainage pipe design all factor in. We provide a clear estimate after a site survey.
No β our engineered filter, developed under our CEO Mr. Vikas Patil's supervision, has a metal body and is designed to be maintenance-free, water resistant, and easy to clean.
We follow a six-step process: determine and clean the catchment area, plan the layout, set up storage, install pipes and tanks, install the system, and connect it to storage. Timelines vary by scale β we'll outline yours after the survey.
Yes β we've delivered projects for hotels, distilleries, insurers, manufacturers, and banks, alongside individual homes, societies, schools, and hospitals.
